Humans stand at a point in history where they have choices.  In the past, there have been precious few choices.  Up until the last 20 years or so, the only choice Humanity had was keep working and eat and have a roof over your head and all the other necessities of living.  Theconstant in life was to keep working and do the things that give you real joy once you reach a certain point in life that often came after you were too old to enjoy them.

The pursuit of necessities is what derails joy too often on this planet.  Too many Humans live their lives and see nothing of the world they live in and enjoy precious few joys and wonders that are available on this planet.  It is true that some actually get to do for a living what gives them joy but how many can actually say this?  I would say that 1 in 10 of the people I know do actually work at the job that gives them joy.

Humans stand at a point in history where this can change.  We have a choice.  At the forefront of this group of Humans stand Americans.  America is the only superpower today.  That may change with the evolution of the European Union, but at this point, America is it.  For the last 227 years, America has worked very hard to be this superpower.  We have evolved.  We have grown and matured.  America embraced new ideas and put away old.  America has the potential to lead the world into a higher realm.

The major step to doing this is a simple realization.  We are not the same.  Diversity is self-evident.  Divisions are infinite.  The titles that Humans of the world bear are infinite.  There are multitudes of countries, religions, races, mindsets, and opinions.  Fascism is not the answer.  Democracy is not even really the answer because some people on this planet prefer theocracy.

But there is something that we all are.  We are all Human.  That is one thing that everyone can say.  That is irrefutable.  No matter where we live, what we believe, how we govern the fact remains, we are all Human and that is a place where we can begin to see things in a like manner.  This is a place where we can achieve equality, peace and tolerance for all other divisions.

All Humans have certain needs.

Clean water

Food

Clothing

Shelter

Health care

Education

These are the simple basics.  This is not Maslow’s Hierarchy.  Here, we are just talking about the basic needs of every human for living, not peaceful living, not living to some extended age, not self-actualization, just to be alive.  Some would argue that Education then should not be in this list; however, being alive and not learning is not possible unless someone is literally brain dead but even then the hope is that eventually that person won’t be brain dead someday and will be able to start learning.  Add to that the socialist idea of our public school system in America today where it is considered a right and one can only arrive to the decision that it should be on the list.

America is at a point in its history to where making sure that every one of its citizens has each of these needs met.  The richest country on the planet should be collectively ashamed of itself when a bomb is produced when its children could be educated for the price of said bomb.  There is no reason for the people of America to worry if the water coming from their kitchen faucet should be boiled to prevent anyone getting sick.

Yes, this is socialist.  Some might ask why stop there?  The answer is because no one needs anything else.  Almost anything else that might be considered for the list would be a “want”.  Arguments could be made that other items could be considered needs.  Transportation, for instance, could be considered a need; I submit we have to start somewhere and work our way towards other items being added to the list.

This is my dream.
