The voice of the people is a powerful tool, and in today's world, individuals have more access to expression than ever before. Within these pages you'll find opinions that address a wide variety of topics that reflect both conservative and liberal viewpoints, as well as the growing movement towards independent third-party representation.

Drawing on their expertise in the private sector, as well as a deep and abiding interest in government policies, our members present insights into the issues that face our country. Justin on Economics offers a series of articles that explain the "dismal science" of economics, as well as overviews on trade deficits and income distribution. In Sound and Fury, Universe Prince examines the issues of freedom, and asks how far we've come as a nation when it comes to racial equality. Jay Caruso's Soapbox makes a case for the electoral college, and reveals his love of baseball in his essay about the nomination process used by the Baseball Hall of Fame. Zep questions fairness in reporting in his article about Enron. Homeschooling is examined in our Guest Editorial by someone who knows it firsthand - member CUSprings, who began college after being homeschooled and who was ranked third in her senior year at the University of Colorado.

With a unique blend of sharp insight and wit, Repub's Corner puts the woes of our modern world in perspective with "Fashionable Worries"; shares an excerpt from Jim Hightower's If The Gods Had Meant Us To Vote They Would Have Given Us Candidates; and rips into VH1's Top 100 Videos Countdown with a vengeance. The Doghouse showcases our resident lyricist, Stray Pooch, who demonstrates his flair for parody with his version of familiar tunes, rewritten with a topical twist. Point/Counterpoint offers a look at individual rights with essays from Sirs and RiS.

In Reruns, you'll find out how it all began...a history of the original Yahoo Clubs that brought us together, as well as compilations of three of the more interesting discussions that ensued back in the day. And you'll find interesting sites, some from our own members, listed under Member Links and Shameless Plugs.

Enjoy!
